Siemens

A Management Cockpit to support the execution of the 2010 strategy

Siemens Belux is a key player in industry, building technologies, information systems, energy and medical solutions. Siemens Belux is composed of about 10 Business Units. Siemens has been using the Management Cockpit since many years in order to follow up the performance of its business units. Every quarter, Francis Verheughe, the CEO of Siemens Belux, meets the CEO and the CFO of every BU in the Cockpit Room in order to have a review of their performance.

Siemens asked Cockpit Group to upgrade their Cockpit on an IT and on business point of view. The current CockpitSoft client server version was upgraded to the CockpitSuite web version in order to provide access to the BU managers. The current Cockpit structure and KPI’s were also improved by adding customer and human resources KPI’s as well as a close follow-up of the long term strategy.  With these major changes in their Cockpit, Siemens has 3 clear objectives:

  1. Standardization based on best-practice-sharing and improvement of reporting including the business part;
  2. Agree on the data-sources and validation-procedures to avoid discussion on data-quality;
  3. Make a clear distinction between short-term objectives and long-term objectives.
